Emaciation

This drawing references the photo taken by Tom Stoddart a British photojournalist known for his coverage of various conflicts. In the photo a man collecting firewood walks past an emaciated child during the 1998 Sudan famine. As of July 1998 2.6 million people were at risk of starvation. Sudan still remains one of the poorest countries in the world and still faces hunger crises skyrocketing prices etc. I decided to bring attention to Sudan and show how everything around us can affect us by exhibiting the after-effects of war and natural disasters after having viewed news of Sudans current status.
