The Binding Waters

My inspiration came from the flooding issue in my community. I decided to draw students in uniform helping each other get home while their village is underwater since it is an incident my classmates and I have experienced. The dark background contrasts the light water the students create as they help each other get through the obstacle. Although flooding causes inconvenience in people’s lives, it also brings people together. I wanted to convey that natural disasters, like obstacles in one's life, cause pain, but it also creates a sense of community and gives people the opportunity to connect through suffering.
