Dr. Boripat Siriaroonrat is a researcher at the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University. He was a Director of Conservation & Research at the Zoological Park Organization of Thailand, and a Wildlife Health and Ecology Coordinator for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific. Boripat received his DVM from Chulalongkorn University in 1994 and MS in Zoology in 1998 and PhD in Environmental Science and Policy from George Mason University in 2006. He was a research fellow at the Smithsonian’s National Zoological Park and Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute, USA. He has been involved in wildlife reproductive science research for 15 years with experience from variety of species. He has been active advocate for One Health linking wildlife health activities and conducted training courses for veterinarians, medical doctors and wildlife biologists on One Health with wildlife emphasis in Bangladesh, Vietnam, and China. He is currently a Co-chair of IUCN/SSC Animal Conservation and Biobanking Specialist Group.
