My initial training was medicine at Hanoi Medical University. After the initial training, I pursued my PhD training in Nutrition, food technology and biotechnology from Wageningen University of the Netherlands. Since then, I have accumulated a wealth of experiences in conducting research on HIV/AIDS, environmental health, nutritional science, community health, primary healthcare, climate change and communicable and non-communicable diseases. Over the past 20 years, I have developed strong expertise not only in the field of nutrition, but also in the field of public health and preventive medicine as well. As a professor at Hanoi Medical University, the Dean of the Institute of Preventive Medicine and Public Health (IPMPH), Hanoi Medical University and the Head of Nutrition and Food Safety, IPMPH, I am the team leader of many studies in health sector and trainer of some critical nutrition education programs in Vietnam. I have mentored more than 40 students, including Vietnamese and international students to acquire Master and PhD trainings. Moreover, I also have experiences in project management as the coordinator of the nation-wide project funded by the Netherlands titled “Strengthening Teaching and Research Capacity of Preventive Medicine in Vietnam”; the Member of the SEAOHUN (the South-East Asia One Health University Network).
