Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a leading cause of cancer death worldwide. Early detection of HCC enables curative treatment options, thus improves survival of patients. Abdominal ultrasound is the primary imaging modality for screening and surveillance in patients at risk for HCC.
In this session, we will introduce the Ultrasound Liver Imaging Reporting and Data System (US LI-RADS), which standardizes reporting and interpretation of ultrasound examinations for screening and surveillance of HCC. We will cover how to use US LI-RADS to tailor screening and surveillance strategies in select patients.
