Healthcare is one of the most polluting industries, responsible for nearly 5% of total global greenhouse gases1 and generating over a tonne of waste per hospital bed each year2. The COVID-19 pandemic has also greatly exacerbated the use of single-use plastics which have limited potential for recycling.

In this session we look at the opportunities for ‘greening health’ with a focus on real world examples driving change at global, national and local levels.
